After the acoustic detour of Time Travelers & Bonfires, Sevendust is once again plugged in and crushing skulls. Their attack drops like Thor's hammer at the onset. "Thank You" opens things with metalcore-inspired start/stop complexity and aggression. Ditto for "Forget" and "Torched" (though both are slightly more proggy). Then there's the industrialized "Silly Beast," the record’s toughest moment. But not every cut is pure heaviness -- "Letters" is melodic alt-rock veering into emo. It's a subtle curveball on an album that takes what Sevendust does best and tweaks it for modern ears.
